- formula control;
- complete composition;
- flavor, color, solids, and sweetness contribution;
- process and equipment burden;
- pack, storage, and logistics requirements;
- label and destination implications;
- validated dose and finished-unit cost;
- lot and change-control needs; and
- current evidence and supply status.
Decision rule
Do not choose a format because it has the most familiar label. Choose the format that meets the required result with acceptable disclosure, operating burden, economics, evidence, and continuity. If no format passes the MUSTS, stop or redesign the brief.
